Research Profile

 

My research is centred around the use of molecular biology to decipher key geological questions.  In particular:

  • the evolution and adaptation of marine algal photosynthesis to changing atmospheric carbon dioxide levels (characterizing carbonic anhydrases & RuBisCO)
  • how various biological pathways (and enzymes) effect the fractionation of trace metals in the ocean
  • adaptation of marine algae to increasing ocean acidification (UKOARP)
